THE VIETNAM WAR
The Vietnam War was from 1964 to 1975 in South Vietnam.
On one side was the United States, the Republic of Vietnam,
Australia, New Zealand, and South Korea. On the other side was
North Vietnam and the National Liberation Front. In Vietnam,
this was known as the American War. The Paris Peace Accords
were later signed on January 27, 1973 which officially ended US
involvement in Vietnam. Though the peace agreement did not
last long, in 1975 the north in vaded the south. 58,148
Americans were killed and 304,000 wounded out of the millions
who served.Five men killed in Vietnam were only 16 years old.
The oldest man killed was 62 years old.Ninety one percent of
Vietnam veterans say they are glad they served. Seventy
four percent said they would serve again.
